The June 1962 Alcatraz escape was a prison break from Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary, a maximum-security facility located on an island in San Francisco Bay, undertaken by inmates Frank Morris and brothers John and Clarence Anglin. The three men were able to escape from their cells and leave the island in a makeshift raft.
On March 21, 1963, Alcatraz officially closed and all prisoners were transferred off the island. At least that’s what we were told. Only a shadowy government unit knows the truth – the convicts who vanished have mysteriously resurfaced in modern-day San Francisco, not a day older, and are ready to wreak havoc again.

First of all, with the exception of Slaughterhouse Rock (1988), another bad 80s slasher set on Alcatraz island, and yes, I said slasher set on Alcatraz Island, which is basically what this film is, this was pretty much unlike any Alcatraz film I have ever seen. No, do not expect to see anything like Escape from Alcatraz (1979) or The Rock (1996).
